Welcome to 6th @ Lander’s new monthly Blog, ‘Building Smart Spaces’.

This blog is intended to network owners and tenants and to share important building information.  It is our hope that by sharing info with all of our tenants and owners that we can reduce our utility consumption and waste generation , improve security, decrease costs of tenancy (NNN’s).  

Constructive feedback and comments (in the comment section) are always welcome! 

Consumption and Conservation

In this section we will be providing monthly updates regarding utility usage, costs and waste generation at the building.  It is out hope that by sharing data and graphical analysis with you, that we, together, can help reduce our buildings footprint improving both our built environment and the natural environment  around us.  
We have will continue to share utility usage with you on a monthly basis. This can inform us of how we are doing on a monthly basis at achieving goals for reducing those expenses.

Tenant Spotlight
In coming months this section will be used to highlight tenants in the building to promote tenant’s product and services.  Its our hope that fellow- tenants will help to enhance the 624 Lander community by, when possible, patronizing neighboring business and- hopefully, providing discounts and favors to neighbors as well who seek their services.

Upcoming Events
Smart Spaces is looking forward to providing Tenants with business and personal enhancement workshops.  These ‘Brown Bag and Sushi Lunches’ will feature management provided sushi and drinks supplemented by your own favorites brought from home.  Features speakers will focus on small business advice, personal enhancement and other notable speakers.

$300 Rent Incentive for your Ideas!!
We want to start a compost system at the building.  In addition to providing the compost bins in the back of the building we need your suggestions on how to:

  • Collect from tenant spaces or common areas
  • Avoid adverse consequences- smell or fruit flies
  • Ensure tenants participate

The tenant (or employee of tenant) with best thought out, most practical and implementable idea will be eligible for a $300 rent discount for next month!!  Please do not be shy and come up with some suggestions.  It will be a big help to us, the building an the environment!

SECURITY, SECURITY, SECURITY!!!

We need all tenants help keeping the building secure.  Unfortunately, a break in occurred last weekend- one, if not the only, break in that has occurred since Real Assets has been managing the building.  We need your help to keep the doors closed.

From now on, tenants are NOT PERMITTED to prop open doors at any time.  If a door that you require non-key access through  is not unlocked at a certain time you require it to be; please contact Pete or Adam and we will be happy to find ways of helping to adjust the settings/lock system so it will work better for you.  

On weekends or after 5:00PM please use ONLY the blue door on the 6th Avenue Loading Dock for entry or the timed overhead door.  DO NOT USE the aluminum double doors after hours or on weekends.  (they are harder to keep locked)
