DMPC (Almost) Monthly Blog UpdateDSCN0193

Your building needs love.  Dave is here to provide it.

Dave Wren loves buildings.   Thats why we hired him to be Real Assets’ Building Technician.  While you and I love the look and feel of luxurious lobbies, fine finishes and plentiful parking, Dave is enraptured with the wires, fuses, plumbing and temperature controls.   Dave comes to us with a wealth of experience working for the big guys: CB Richard Ellis, Tishman Speyer, Safeway Maintenance, oh, and the US Army!

And we love Dave.  We are sure you will too when he solves some of your maintenance headaches- hopefully not too soon.  And now we also have a great new format for responding to your requests.  Dave will be charged with understanding and ensuring operation of the controlled access system at DMPC so please let him know if you have questions, need more cards, or are experiencing difficulties with the system.

Through our new on-line maintenance request website you can place and Dave can receive and respond to your maintenance requests  with just a a few clicks. It’s not that we don’t like to talk to you, we are just trying to be efficient to ensure your requests get logged and responded to immediately.

You can expect to hear back from Dave within two hours of placing a maintenance request- often with an in-person visit.  So please use our website to make your maintenance request for all but the most dire emergencies.

Tenant Spotlight

You undoubtedly have noticed the construction in the building although it hopefully has not been too intrusive.  Now we are fortunate to welcome a new tenant to the DMPC, Mike Wilcox of Edward Jones. Please take a minute to swing by and introduce yourselves to Mike and his assistant Joan.

DSCN0258Mike is from the Seattle area originally but has spent many years working in Edward Jones’ corporate headquarters located  in St. Louis and around the country.  Now he’s back to the place he loves to do what he loves most: helping people meet their financial goals.

Community is a big part of Mike’s business philosophy so he welcomes you, as neighbors, to the EJ office to help answer your basic or more elaborate questions you’ve been dying to ask someone in-the-know.  How do I plan for kids college?  Life-cycle events?  Invest wisely in mutual funds?  Ensure taxes are being prepared correctly?

Tenants are encouraged to swing by anytime to speak with Mike about any of their financial concerns for advice only or for professional services. Friends, family are also encouraged to swing by for a visit.

Signage Renaissance

MRP, the property owners, really stepped up to make a simple but big improvement for your businesses.  Thanks to very good input from Elaine & Tony and Peter’s own personal observations at the building, a new way finding signage package was created and installed for your benefit.  Gone are the days of clients warily taking the elevator to unknown destinations-  Thanks MRP, Peter Elaine and Tony for your cooperation in making a great improvement to DMPC!!

Consumption and Conservation

624utilitiespsemarDave, ‘the maintenance guy’ is charged with translating Real Assets’s Smart Spaces Vision into a building’s performance.  Most recently Dave completed an audit with Performance Mechanical that was paid for by Puget Sound Energy and allowed them to fine-tune some HVAC settings to provide better performance at the property.  HVAC is typically the largest consumer of energy at a building.

Dave monitors energy usage by reviewing all monthly utility bills and looks for ways to reduce usage and costs.   Dave has been through the LEED application process for several prior buildings and we expect him to LEAD us to LEED in our portfolio of properties.  So far we are upgrading toilets, installing lighting occupancy sensors in many of our portfolio properties, and focusing on waste reduction at all of them.
