Winter Energy Savings Tips

February 3rd, 2011

When the winter temperatures dip low, heating systems kick into overdrive to keep our spaces comfortable and warm. But if you’re not careful, kicking your heat on can really kick up your energy bills during the winter season. Here are some simple tips for setting your digital thermostat for optimal success:

  • Set a daily schedule that suits your use. Most digital thermostats have the capability to set a temperature schedule for each day of the week. So not matter what your schedule is, you can prepare your space best for how you use it.
  • Put your program on “hold” when you’ll be gone for a longer period of time. Whether it’s for a holiday or an extended period of time, make sure to keep your temperature low and consistent while you are not using your space. This will not only save a ton of energy, but will save you from unnecessary expenses!
  • Set your temperature to a comfortable level, but don’t overdo it! Unless your office is home to tropical plants and animals, you most likely don’t need your thermostat set in the mid-70′s! Consider dropping your thermostat down a couple of degrees and see how you feel. It can save you some cash, and save energy.

Interested in learning more? You can read about programmable thermostats on the Energy Star website if you’re interested – there are some tips and helpful hints there.

Don’t have a digital thermostat in your commercial space? Contact Real Assets as soon as possible and we can get you set up!

Seattle Taken by Storm! Real Assets plan to dig out.

November 23rd, 2010

Real Assets joins the City of Seattle in it’s amazement over how quickly snow can accumulate. WOW.

Good News!  We have delivered provisions to our properties for de-icing and shoveling.

When the roads have been rendered safe to drive Real Assets will provide personnel to shovel sidewalks and de-ice walkways for you.

In the meantime, if you would like to access de-icer and shovels to clear paths for yourselves or your customers, please call Peter Kuchan at 206-375-5982 or Adam Simon at 206-755-6345 for instructions on locating the supplies at the property.

If you have any maintenance emergencies during this time, please log in to our maintenance page that can be accessed from our homepage.

Thanks for your patience as we participate in City solidarity by keeping one more dangerous car off the streets until the sheets of ice have thawed or are eliminated by SDOT.

DMPC Belated Photos of Phillip’s Family Work Party

August 31st, 2010

This deserved to go up months ago!  Thanks to the DMPC property owners, the entire Phillips family, who lovingly adorned the DMPC with new bark and plants back in June.

Phillip's Family Work Party at DMPC

With all of the properties that Real Assets manages- it is rare to have an entire family show such personal dedication to their property.   Both the Phillips’ and Real Assets are very appreciative of our tenants, we all realize the tenants are the real assets of DMPC!

Thanks!

Your building needs love.  Dave is here to provide it.

Dave Wren loves buildings.   Thats why we hired him to be Real Assets’ Building Technician.  While you and I love the look and feel of luxurious lobbies, fine finishes and plentiful parking, Dave is enraptured with the wires, fuses, plumbing and temperature controls.   Dave comes to us with a wealth of experience working for the big guys: CB Richard Ellis, Tishman Speyer, Safeway Maintenance, oh, and the US Army!

And we love Dave.  We are sure you will too when he solves some of your maintenance headaches- hopefully not too soon.  And now we also have a great new format for responding to your requests.  Dave will be charged with understanding and ensuring operation of the controlled access system at DMPC so please let him know if you have questions, need more cards, or are experiencing difficulties with the system.

Through our new on-line maintenance request website you can place and Dave can receive and respond to your maintenance requests  with just a a few clicks. It’s not that we don’t like to talk to you, we are just trying to be efficient to ensure your requests get logged and responded to immediately.

You can expect to hear back from Dave within two hours of placing a maintenance request- often with an in-person visit.  So please use our website to make your maintenance request for all but the most dire emergencies.
